Strawberry Earl Grey Spritz (Sugar-Free, No Alcohol)

This started as an experiment and became the drink I make every weekend. The Earl Grey steeps overnight in the Sprite and gives it this subtle floral depth that makes people ask what’s in it. Topped with fresh strawberry purée it looks like something from a café menu.

Key ingredients:
Sugar-free Sprite — the sparkling base that stays light and refreshing without any added sugar.
Earl Grey tea — steeps overnight and infuses the Sprite with a subtle bergamot flavor. Don’t shake or stir — just let it sit.
Strawberries — blended into a smooth purée that layers beautifully at the bottom of the glass.
Honey — just enough to sweeten the purée naturally. Skip it or use stevia to keep it fully sugar-free.

Common questions:
Can I make the Sprite base the same day? You can, but the flavor will be much weaker. Overnight is what gives the bergamot that subtle depth — it’s worth the wait.
Can I use a different tea? Yes — green tea, jasmine, or chamomile all work well. Earl Grey gives the most interesting flavor contrast with the strawberry.
Do I have to keep the layers? No, you can stir it together. But the two-layer look is half the reason to make this drink, so I’d recommend keeping it for at least the first photo.

Ingredients (1 serving):

Earl Grey Sprite base (make the night before):
500ml sugar-free Sprite
2 tbsp loose Earl Grey tea (or 2 tea bags)

Strawberry purée:
150g strawberries
50ml water
15g honey

To serve:
Lemon slices
Fresh mint
Ice (optional)

Instructions:
1. The night before: pour the Sprite into a bottle, leaving a little space at the top. Add the tea, do not stir, close and refrigerate overnight.
2. When ready to serve, blend the strawberries, water, and honey until completely smooth.
3. Pour the strawberry purée into a glass first.

4. Slowly pour the Earl Grey Sprite over the top — it will naturally layer.

5. Add lemon slices, fresh mint, and ice if desired.
6. Don’t stir — keep the layers for the full effect.
